The VMS Family
Vail Mountain School
Established in 1962, Vail Mountain School’s mission is to prepare students intellectually, emotionally, and ethically to thrive in a collegiate setting and beyond with the life-long purpose of active participation in global citizenship. Accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools, and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, VMS is Eagle and Summit Counties’ only independent, co-educational, college preparatory school for students in grades K-12 with a 100% four-year college acceptance rate. Character education is woven into academics and all co-curricular activities. In addition to a traditional curriculum, unique programs like Ethically Engaged Youth, which connects students directly with underserved communities around the world through travel and service; an outdoor education program that introduces students of all ages to the wonders of our natural habitat; a community service program that engages students as volunteers locally and on the Front Range; and school traditions that promote interaction between students of varying ages all contribute to each student’s well-rounded education.
