What is Love and Logic

Love and Logic is a commonsense approach that teaches parents and educators skills that cultivate confidence and good decisionmaking in children while adults avoid anger, threats, warnings, or lectures. Love and Logic is easy to learn and can be put to use right away; it changes lives and raises responsible kids. And isn’t that what we all want for the children in our lives?

The Love and Logic Process:
Shared Control.
Gain control by giving away the control you don’t need.
Shared thinking/decision-making.

Equal shares of empathy and consequences.
An absence of anger causes a child to think and learn from his/her mistakes.

Maintain the child’s self-concept.
Increased self-concept leads to improves behavior and improved achievement.

Love and Logic Rules for Giving Choices:
• Only give a child choices that will not effect others.
• Only give a choice when there is no danger
• Give children lots of small choices and save the big choices for the adults.
• Only give choices that fit your value system.
• Don’t be afraid to say, “I usually give choices but not this time.”
• Be prepared to make the choices yourself if the child does not decide in 10 seconds flat.

A 7 week class “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent” will be offered through Colorado Mountain College in February.

The Family Learning Center

Your might want your kids to become more sociable and friendly. Activities for kids in vail teaches kids to develop their social skills in safe, affordable childcare education.The Family Learning Center serves 160 children, aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Avon Recreation Center, Childcare

Vail Children’s program gives parents more time in enjoying and pampering themselves while not worrying about their kids safety and well being.
The Recreation Center provides childcare for your child ages 6 month to 8 years while you take an exercise class, go for a swim or use our state-of-the-art selectorized strength equipment, free weights or cardiovascular equipment with personal television screens. A parent or guardian must be on the premises while the child is in childcare. Childcare pricing: $6 per child/hour, $42 for a twenty-punch card (punches are in 1/2 hour increments).
